Rockstar Confirms the Delay of GTA VI and Releases its Second Trailer

Since early May, the internet has been flooded with rumors suggesting a possible delay in the release date of GTA VI, while other sources claimed Rockstar would release the game’s second trailer mid-month. Both theories have ultimately proven true, so let’s break things down.

Rockstar announced the delay of GTA VI to May 2026

When Rockstar released the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI in December 2024, the internet exploded due to the immense hype this saga generates worldwide. The trailer broke several view records on YouTube and left us all speechless and eager due to the stunning visuals and incredibly realistic environment.

At the end of the video, a sign announced its arrival in 2025, without specifying a date or release window. Over time, the excitement grew alongside concerns. Months passed without further updates, and the suspicion of a potential delay grew stronger. Finally, Rockstar officially confirmed the delay in a statement on social media.

The good news is that GTA VI now has a specific release date, not just a vague window or generic announcement. Rockstar’s flagship saga’s next installment will arrive on May 26, 2026. It’s a considerable delay, but one I personally think is entirely justified. They want to polish the game to perfection before putting it on the shelves, and that’s something we should appreciate. No one wants a launch failure—not the companies that develop the games nor the gamers who play them. It’s better to wait and get a polished product than to launch something rushed and broken, only to wait for fixes later on.

The second trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI is released

Earlier this week, Rockstar released the second trailer for GTA VI. It only took 2 minutes and 40 seconds to blow our minds and skyrocket our expectations. The level of detail shown in the video is out of this world, not just in terms of texture quality or animations but in the tiniest details. Hair, body hair, skin pores, reflections on various surfaces, lighting effects, liquid physics, and the way body parts move and bounce with lifelike realism create a true visual spectacle.

Rockstar isn’t just creating an amazing video game but a genuine revolution in the gaming world. The best part? The trailer was recorded on a standard PS5, not a Pro. This means we can expect that level of realism when we finally get to play it on May 26, 2026. However, PC gamers will have to wait even longer, as a release for computers has yet to be announced.
