Finally, after a long wait since its announcement during the 25th anniversary of the saga, the Fallout series premiered on Prime Video, Amazon’s streaming service. This adaptation has been a resounding success, captivating both fans of the franchise and people who have never played any of its games. To celebrate the launch of the series and offer everyone who enjoyed it the chance to experience surviving the wasteland, Amazon has decided to bring us several titles from the saga.
Weeks ago, Amazon gifted all Prime Gaming subscribers both Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics to build anticipation for the series directed by Jonathan Nolan. While the time to claim Fallout 2 has expired, Fallout Tactics is still available for free activation until April 24.
Coinciding with the series’ release, Amazon included Fallout 76, the latest installment in the saga and the only one featuring online multiplayer, in this month’s free games lineup. This makes sense as it allows players to explore the wasteland with friends, and it’s the first game in the chronological order, while the series represents the saga’s latest iteration. Two versions are available for activation, one for PC and another for Xbox, both of which must be redeemed in the Microsoft Store by following the provided link and entering the code given by the Prime Gaming website.
There’s also good news for fans of the more classic single-player installments, as Amazon Luna, the cloud gaming platform, includes two of the saga’s favorites in their complete versions with all DLCs. Fallout 3, the first game developed by Bethesda after purchasing the franchise rights from Interplay, served as the entry point for most current fans (myself included). Additionally, there’s Fallout New Vegas, developed by Obsidian under Zenimax’s umbrella, which has been a fan favorite since its release. Both games are part of the rotating free games available on Luna for all Amazon Prime subscribers, meaning they will be accessible for a month. After this period, you’ll need to purchase the game to continue playing. However, any progress made will be retained, as your save data will remain available.
Microsoft, the current owner of Bethesda and its licenses, is also joining the celebration by gifting a survival kit inspired by the series’ Vault to all Game Pass subscribers. The Vault 33 survival kit includes several resources to aid players in their adventures. To claim it, simply log into the Game Pass app on your PC or console and redeem it.
