Twelve years have passed since Konami<\/strong> last released a new entry in one of its most iconic franchises\u2014twelve long years that, fortunately, are finally coming to an end. It\u2019s almost hard to believe that the last Castlevania<\/strong> game launched during the PlayStation 3<\/strong> and Xbox 360<\/strong> era, and that we haven\u2019t seen a new installment since then. While Konami<\/strong> has released several collections and compilations over the years, nothing truly new had emerged. The Castlevania saga is officially back, and its next installment is being developed by Evil Empire<\/strong> and Motion Twin<\/strong>\u2014the same studios behind the acclaimed Dead Cells<\/strong>, which even received a DLC dedicated to Konami\u2019s<\/strong> franchise. The trailer makes it clear that this will be a faithful side\u2011scrolling action\u2011platformer in the spirit of the original games. It remains to be seen whether it will incorporate roguelike elements like Dead Cells<\/strong>.<\/p>

Visually, the game looks excellent, with polished animations that fit perfectly with the series\u2019 aesthetic. The character models could use a bit more refinement, but they are likely early versions that will be more polished in the final release. Castlevania: Belmont\u2019s Curse <\/strong>is set to launch on PlayStation 5<\/strong>, Xbox Series<\/strong>, Nintendo Switch<\/strong>, and Steam<\/strong> sometime in 2026<\/strong>, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the original game. According to Konami, more titles from the franchise are already in development<\/strong>.<\/p>

Konami\u2019s other announcements<\/span><\/h2>

Konami<\/strong> was undeniably the star of the event, awakening from a long slumber to revive some of its most important licenses. Alongside Castlevania<\/strong>, the presentation also featured a new Silent Hill<\/strong> title and a fresh Metal Gear<\/strong> compilation.<\/p>

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol 2<\/span><\/h3>

The world\u2019s premier tactical espionage saga returns with a new compilation that not only brings Snake back to the battlefield but also fulfills a long\u2011standing promise: rescuing the legendary Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots<\/strong> from limbo. Snake\u2019s final mission was originally released exclusively on PS3<\/strong>, and after the console\u2019s discontinuation\u2014and the shutdown of its online store\u2014the game was effectively trapped on Sony\u2019s old hardware. Until now.<\/p>

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 <\/strong>includes the PS3<\/strong> classic as well as an HD version of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker from PSP<\/strong>. Silent Hill: Townfall<\/span><\/h3>

Following the successful remake of Silent Hill 2 <\/strong>and the well\u2011received Silent Hill f, Konami<\/strong> is once again investing in survival horror with a new entry: Silent Hill: Townfall<\/strong>. The trailer introduces a new protagonist, Simon, and a never\u2011before\u2011seen location, St. Amelia. With top\u2011tier visuals and a deeply unsettling atmosphere, the game promises to plunge players once again into the darkest corners of psychological horror.
